ואתתא חדא מנשי תלמידי נבייא מצוחא קדם אלישע למימר עבדך עובדיה בעלי מית ואת ידעת ארי עבדך הוה דחיל מן קדם יי כד קטלת איזבל ית נבייא דיי דבר מנהון מאה גברין ואטמרינון חמשין חמשין גברין במערתא והוה יזיף ומוכל להון בדיל דלא לאוכלא יתהון מנכסוהי דאחאב מן קדם דאינון אונסא וכען רשיא אתא למדבר ית תרין בני ליה לעבדין:
lebdyn lyh bny thryn yth lmdbr atha rshya wken awnsa daynwn qdm mn dakhab mnkswhy ythhwn lawkla dla bdyl lhwn wmwkl yzyp whwh bmertha gbryn khmshyn khmshyn waTmrynwn gbryn mah mnhwn dbr dyy nbyya yth ayzbl qTlth kd yy qdm mn dkhyl hwh ebdk ary ydeth wath myth bely ewbdyh ebdk lmymr alyshe qdm mtswkha nbyya thlmydy mnshy khda waththa
Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

ואמר לה אלישע מה אעביד ליך חוי לי מא אית ליך בביתא ואמרת לית לאמתך כל מדעם בביתא אלהין מנא דמשחא:
dmshkha mna alhyn bbytha mdem kl lamthk lyth wamrth bbytha lyk ayth ma ly khwy lyk aebyd mh alyshe lh wamr
Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

ואמר אזילי שאילי ליך מנין מן ברא מן כל שבביכי מנין ריקנין לא תזעירין:
thzeyryn la ryqnyn mnyn shbbyky kl mn bra mn mnyn lyk shayly azyly wamr
Then he said, “Go, borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers.

ותהכין ותגיפין דשא באפיך ובאפי ברך ותריקין על כל מניא האלין ומנא דאתמלי תסלקין:
thslqyn dathmly wmna halyn mnya kl el wthryqyn brk wbapy bapyk dsha wthgypyn wthhkyn
Go in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”

ואזלת מלותיה ואגפת דשא באפהא ובאפי בנהא אינון מקרבין לה מניא והיא מריקא משחא:
mshkha mryqa whya mnya lh mqrbyn aynwn bnha wbapy bapha dsha wagpth mlwthyh wazlth
So she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil.

והוה כמשלם מניא ואמרת לברה קריב לי עוד מנא ואמר לה לית עוד מנא ופסק משחא:
mshkha wpsq mna ewd lyth lh wamr mna ewd ly qryb lbrh wamrth mnya kmshlm whwh
When the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” He said to her, “There isn’t another container.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

ואתת וחויאת לנביא דיי ואמר אזילי זביני ית משחא ושלמי למרי חובתיך ואת ובנייך תתפרנסין מדישתאר:
mdyshthar ththprnsyn wbnyyk wath khwbthyk lmry wshlmy mshkha yth zbyny azyly wamr dyy lnbya wkhwyath wathth
Then she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

והוה יומא ועבר אלישע לשונם ותמן אתתא דחלת חטאין ואתקיפת ביה למיכל לחמא והוה בזמן מעידוהי מתפני לתמן למיכל לחמא:
lkhma lmykl lthmn mthpny meydwhy bzmn whwh lkhma lmykl byh wathqypth khTayn dkhlth aththa wthmn lshwnm alyshe webr ywma whwh
One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

ואמרת לבעלה הא כען ידענא ארי נביא דיי קדישא הוא מתפני לותנא תדירא:
thdyra lwthna mthpny hwa qdysha dyy nbya ary ydena ken ha lbelh wamrth
She said to her husband, “See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God who passes by us continually.

נעביד כען עלית כתלא זעירא ונתקן ליה תמן אתר ערסא ופתורא וכורסיא ומנרתא ויהי במיתוהי לותנא יתפני לתמן:
lthmn ythpny lwthna bmythwhy wyhy wmnrtha wkwrsya wpthwra ersa athr thmn lyh wnthqn zeyra kthla elyth ken nebyd
Please, let’s make a little room on the roof. Let’s set a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand for him there. When he comes to us, he can stay there.”

והוה יומא ועל לתמן וזר לעיליתא ושכיב תמן:
thmn wshkyb leylytha wzr lthmn wel ywma whwh
One day he came there, and he went to the room and lay there.
12
ואמר לגיחזי עולימיה קרי לשונמיתא הדא וקרא לה וקמת קדמוהי:
qdmwhy wqmth lh wqra hda lshwnmytha qry ewlymyh lgykhzy wamr
He said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.

ואמר ליה אמר כען לה הא עסקתא לנא ית כל עסקא הדא מה למעבד ליך הפתגם אית ליך למללא עם מלכא או עם רב חילא ואמרת בגו עסקי עמי אנא מסוברא:
mswbra ana emy esqy bgw wamrth khyla rb em aw mlka em lmlla lyk ayth hpthgm lyk lmebd mh hda esqa kl yth lna esqtha ha lh ken amr lyh wamr
He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

ואמר ומה למעבד לה ואמר גיחזי בקושטא בר לית לה ובעלה סיב:
syb wbelh lh lyth br bqwshTa gykhzy wamr lh lmebd wmh wamr
He said, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old.”

ואמר קרי לה וקרא לה וקמת בתרעא:
bthrea wqmth lh wqra lh qry wamr
He said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the door.
16
ואמר לזמנא הדין בעדן דאתון קימין תהא מחבקא ברא ואמרת בבעו רבוני נביא דיי לא יתכדיב פתגמך באמתך:
bamthk pthgmk ythkdyb la dyy nbya rbwny bbew wamrth bra mkhbqa thha qymyn dathwn bedn hdyn lzmna wamr
He said, “At this season next year, you will embrace a son.” She said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

ועדיאת אתתא וילידת בר לזמנא הדין כעדן דהיא קימא די מליל עמה אלישע:
alyshe emh mlyl dy qyma dhya kedn hdyn lzmna br wylydth aththa wedyath
The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.

ורבא רביא והוה יומא ונפק לות אבוהי לות חצדיא:
khtsdya lwth abwhy lwth wnpq ywma whwh rbya wrba
When the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers.
19
ואמר לאבוהי רישי רישי ואמר לעולימא סבהי אוביליה לאמיה:
lamyh awbylyh sbhy lewlyma wamr ryshy ryshy labwhy wamr
He said to his father, “My head! My head!” He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”
20
ונסביה ואוביליה לאמיה ויתיב על ברכהא עד עדן טהרא ומית:
wmyth Thra edn ed brkha el wythyb lamyh wawbylyh wnsbyh
When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.
21
וסליקת ואשכבתיה על ערסא דנביא דיי ואגפת באפוהי ונפקת:
wnpqth bapwhy wagpth dyy dnbya ersa el washkbthyh wslyqth
She went up and laid him on the man of God’s bed, and shut the door on him, and went out.
22
וקרת לבעלה ואמרת שדר כען לי חד מן עולימיא וחדא מן אתניא ואתמטי לות נביא דיי ואתוב:
wathwb dyy nbya lwth wathmTy athnya mn wkhda ewlymya mn khd ly ken shdr wamrth lbelh wqrth
She called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come again.”

ואמר מא דין את אזלת לותיה יומא דין לא ירח ולא שבתא ואמרת שלם:
shlm wamrth shbtha wla yrkh la dyn ywma lwthyh azlth ath dyn ma wamr
He said, “Why would you want to go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said, “It’s all right.”

וזריזת אתנא ואמרת לעולמהא דבר ואזיל לא תדחוק עלי למרכב אלהין כד אמר לך:
lk amr kd alhyn lmrkb ely thdkhwq la wazyl dbr lewlmha wamrth athna wzryzth
Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”

ואזלת ואתת לות נביא דיי לטור כרמלא והוה כד חזא נביא דיי יתה מקביל ואמר לגיחזי עולימיה הא שונמית דיכי:
dyky shwnmyth ha ewlymyh lgykhzy wamr mqbyl ythh dyy nbya khza kd whwh krmla lTwr dyy nbya lwth wathth wazlth
So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite.

כען רהוט כען לקדמותה ואמר לה השלם ליך השלם לבעליך השלם לרביא ואמרת שלם:
shlm wamrth lrbya hshlm lbelyk hshlm lyk hshlm lh wamr lqdmwthh ken rhwT ken
Please run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’” She answered, “It is well.”

ואתת לות נביא דיי לטורא ואתקיפת ברגלוהי וקריב גיחזי למידחה ואמר נביא דיי שבוק מינה ארי נפשא מרירא לה ומן קדם יי אתכסא מני ולא אתחוה לי:
ly athkhwh wla mny athksa yy qdm wmn lh mryra npsha ary mynh shbwq dyy nbya wamr lmydkhh gykhzy wqryb brglwhy wathqypth lTwra dyy nbya lwth wathth
When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”
28
ואמרת השאילית ברא מן רבוני הלא אמרית לך אם מתיהב לי בר קים אם לא לא תנסיס יתי:
ythy thnsys la la am qym br ly mthyhb am lk amryth hla rbwny mn bra hshaylyth wamrth
Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”

ואמר לגיחזי זריז חרצך וסב חוטרי בידך ותיזיל ארי תשכח גבר לא תשאל בשלמיה וארי ישאל בשלמך גברא לא תתביניה ותשוי חוטרי על אפי רביא:
rbya apy el khwTry wthshwy ththbynyh la gbra bshlmk yshal wary bshlmyh thshal la gbr thshkkh ary wthyzyl bydk khwTry wsb khrtsk zryz lgykhzy wamr
Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”
30
ואמרת אמיה דרביא קים הוא יי וחי נפשך אם אשבקינך וקם ואזל בתראה:
bthrah wazl wqm ashbqynk am npshk wkhy yy hwa qym drbya amyh wamrth
The child’s mother said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.
31
וגיחזי עבר קדמיהון ושוי ית חוטרא על אפי רביא ולית קל ולית דמצית ותב לקדמותיה וחוי ליה למימר לא אתער רביא:
rbya ather la lmymr lyh wkhwy lqdmwthyh wthb dmtsyth wlyth ql wlyth rbya apy el khwTra yth wshwy qdmyhwn ebr wgykhzy
Gehazi went ahead of them, and laid the staff on the child’s face; but there was no voice and no hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, “The child has not awakened.”

ואתא אלישע לביתא והא רביא מית רמי על ערסיה:
ersyh el rmy myth rbya wha lbytha alyshe watha
When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and lying on his bed.
33
ועל ואגף דשא באפי תרויהון וצלי קדם יי:
yy qdm wtsly thrwyhwn bapy dsha wagp wel
He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to Yahweh.

וסליק ושכיב על רביא ושוי פומיה על פומיה ועינוהי על עינוהי וידוהי על ידוהי ואלהי עלוהי וחם ביסריה דרביא:
drbya bysryh wkhm elwhy walhy ydwhy el wydwhy eynwhy el weynwhy pwmyh el pwmyh wshwy rbya el wshkyb wslyq
He went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the child’s flesh grew warm.
35
ותב והליך בביתא זמנא חדא לכא וזמנא חדא לכא וסליק ואלהי עלוהי ואתמורק רביא עד שבע זמנין ופקח רביא ית עינוהי:
eynwhy yth rbya wpqkh zmnyn shbe ed rbya wathmwrq elwhy walhy wslyq lka khda wzmna lka khda zmna bbytha whlyk wthb
Then he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth, then went up and stretched himself out on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
36
וקרא לגיחזי ואמר קרי לשנמיתא הדא וקרא לה ואתת לקדמוהי ואמר סבי בריך:
bryk sby wamr lqdmwhy wathth lh wqra hda lshnmytha qry wamr lgykhzy wqra
He called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite!” So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.”
37
ואתת ונפלת קדם רגלוהי וסגידת על ארעא ונסיבת ית ברה ונפקת:
wnpqth brh yth wnsybth area el wsgydth rglwhy qdm wnplth wathth
Then she went in, fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; then she picked up her son, and went out.
38
ואלישע תב לגלגלא וכפנא בארעא ותלמידי נבייא יתבין קדמוהי ואמר לעולימיה תפי דודא רבא ובשיל תבשילא לתלמידי נבייא:
nbyya lthlmydy thbshyla wbshyl rba dwda thpy lewlymyh wamr qdmwhy ythbyn nbyya wthlmydy barea wkpna lglgla thb walyshe
Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”
39
ונפק חד לחקלא ללקטא ירוקנין ואשכח גופנא בחקלא ולקיט מיניה פקעי חקלא מלי לבושיה ואתא ופרס ורמא לדודא דתבשלא ארי לא ידעו:
ydew la ary dthbshla ldwda wrma wprs watha lbwshyh mly khqla pqey mynyh wlqyT bkhqla gwpna washkkh yrwqnyn llqTa lkhqla khd wnpq
One went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered a lap full of wild gourds from it, and came and cut them up into the pot of stew; for they didn’t recognize them.
40
ואריקו לגבריא למיכל והוה כמיכלהון מתבשילא ואינון צוחו ואמרו מותא בדודא נביא דיי ולא יכילו למיכל:
lmykl ykylw wla dyy nbya bdwda mwtha wamrw tswkhw waynwn mthbshyla kmyklhwn whwh lmykl lgbrya waryqw
So they poured out for the men to eat. As they were eating some of the stew, they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
41
ואמר איתו קמחא ורמו לדודא ואמר אריק לעמא וייכלון ולא הוה מדעם ביש בדודא:
bdwda bysh mdem hwh wla wyyklwn lema aryq wamr ldwda wrmw qmkha aythw wamr
But he said, “Then bring meal.” He threw it into the pot; and he said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
42
וגברא אתא מארע דרומא ואיתי לנביא דיי לחם בכורין עסרין טולמין דלחם סעורין ופירוכן בלבושיה ואמר הב לעמא וייכלון:
wyyklwn lema hb wamr blbwshyh wpyrwkn sewryn dlkhm Twlmyn esryn bkwryn lkhm dyy lnbya waythy drwma mare atha wgbra
A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God some bread of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”
43
ואמר משומשניה מא אתן דין קדם מאה גברא ואמר הב לעמא וייכלון ארי כדנן אמר יי ייכלון ויותרון:
wywthrwn yyklwn yy amr kdnn ary wyyklwn lema hb wamr gbra mah qdm dyn athn ma mshwmshnyh wamr
His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for Yahweh says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”
